ABOUT
Jayna Shoda Meyer is a migratory theatre artist who’s lived in Southern California, New England, and the Mariana Islands. Born and raised in Southern California, she is a diasporic Chamorro/CHamoru with ancestral ties to the islands of Saipan and Guåhan. Through her work, Jayna is passionate about creating decolonized and equitable spaces. As a Cultural Survival Indigenous Youth Fellow, Jayna worked with Breaking Wave Theatre Company in Guåhan on the development of the Hita Mane’estoria: We Are Storytellers, a new play written by a group of CHamoru writers that explores intergenerational stories. She has also worked with Breaking Wave as Assistant Camp Director of their Youth Theatre Camp and as a Director for their Podcast Play Series: Legends of Guåhan. Jayna recently graduated from Boston University with a BFA in Theatre Arts.
